About The Artist

"I wear far too many hats.

Metaphorical hats. Not real ones."

Gaylen Danielle Is excited to share Tyto Studios with you! She believes that the most important thing a person can give the world is art. Without a creative center, the world would stop moving forward.

An Alumni of the University Of Hartford and the Hartford Art School, she graduated in 2014 with a BFA in Media Arts. In the years since her graduation, Gaylen has honed and perfected her skills in production, projection, and photography as well as her continued passion for more traditional mediums.

Major technical credits include:

  • Projectionist and media assistant for the HARTT School of Music and Dance

  • Projection Technician and Overhire for The Ivoryton Playhouse including the World Premiere of Comedy is Hard and the US premiere of Calendar Girls

  • Projection Designer for Hofstra Universities Fall production of We Are Pussy Riot!

  • Video technician for a major sport and concert venue working closely with the NLL and WNBA

  • Head photographer for Fairytale Enchantment: Connecticut's premiere character entertainment company

Above all else, Gaylen would like to thank her loving husband for his support in her decisions, regardless of how seemingly ill-advised; her parent's faith in her dreams no matter how far fetched, her older sister who always has the best advice; and finally her friends for their continued confidence in her.

Gaylen currently resides in Manchester, Connecticut with her supportive Husband, a neurotic cat, and two overly affectionate dogs.

Behind The name & logo

TYTO STUDIO

"Tyto is both a word and symbol that is meaningful to my history and to who I am as a person.

Tyto is the genus of birds consisting of true barn owls, grass owls and masked owls that collectively make up all the species within the subfamily Tytoninae. It has always been my favorite bird for its appearance and depiction in mythology.

On a more personal level, the barn owl is a symbol of who I am to my friends and family. The barn owl was the second image I ever tattooed one on my body next to a tattoo that represents my close relationship with my older sister.

The Logo of Tyto studios is a fusion of the eyes and beak of a barn owl and the first letter of my name."
